Having a relaxing evening routine is so essential for my mind to get ready for bed and to get a good night sleep. Keep reading for ideas on things that you can add to your evening routine!
I’ve already written about my morning routine, which I think is SO essential for me to have a productive day.
But, I also feel like my evening routine is so essential in getting me to wind down for the day and relaxing me for bed.
I feel like people don’t talk enough about evening routines, but I feel like it really helps me turn off whatever work I was doing and just relax.
Here are my basic steps, but find what works for you! I like to come up with a routine that’s pretty simple, but still relaxes me. If it’s too complicated or I don’t enjoy it, I won’t want to do it!
Skincare
I’m not going to go fully into my skincare routine (if you’re interested in that, click here). But, I make sure to keep this a part of my routine because it’s a time that I know I can just unwind, relax, and try to not think about any work I have left to do. I also tend to watch YouTube videos while I do my skincare. I know, not the best habit, but I’m working on it! It just really helps me unwind!
Gratefulness
Either during my skincare routine, or right after I get done and am about to read, I take a moment to think about 3 things that I am grateful for that day. It can literally be as simple as, “my avocado was perfectly ripe” but it puts into perspective how lucky I am daily 🙂
Reading
I also try to read for 20-40 minutes a night. This is also when my phone goes away for the night because I find that I sleep a lot better when I give myself at least 30 minutes off my phone.
Sleep
And then it’s time to sleep :).
Like I said, my routine is pretty simple, but it works super well for me in getting me relaxed and ready for bed!
