This pandemic has been hard.
Although it is been nice to slow down and put things into perspective, not seeing friends, going out, and just getting things done in general was hard for me in the beginning.
And I’m the kind of person who needs to feel productive during the day or I just feel like I’m wasting my day and I don’t feel great (this quality has its pros and cons).
But, I really feel like I got a system down after a few months of the social isolation and it has really helped me get things done during the day.
1.Make a To-Do list
This has helped me SO much.
Every night, I write out the things I need to do throughout the next day.
I try not to put too many big things on there just because I don’t want to overwhelm myself if I can’t get everything done in a day.
I also have a problem where I feel like I always need to be productive, so I also try to write down things like ‘walk’ or ‘watch TV’ just so I feel productive when I check it off haha is that weird?
I’ll then number all the things to see what I need to do first and what can wait until later on in the day.
Having a list to refer back to so I have something to do throughout the day makes the day seem so much more productive and like I’m still doing something with my day.
Even on a day when I’m just cooking or something small, I write down what I’m doing and when I check it off, I feel like I’ve accomplished something worthwhile!
2.Have a Morning and Evening Routine
I talk about my full morning routine in this blog post here and my evening routine here, but having a routine in the morning really just helps my mind and body know that the day is starting and a routine in the evening really helps my body wind down.
Knowing that I have these blocks of time set aside for myself helps me be more productive throughout the day because I know I took time for myself in the morning and I’m going to be taking time for myself later in the evening.
3.Do Not Disturb
This has been a game changer for me.
I leave my phone on do not disturb while I’m working so that I don’t get distracted my Instagram notifications, texts, or other random things that I don’t need to be looking at while I’m working.
4.Small Goals
I like to split my tasks into smaller tasks and then give myself a little break at the end of each task.
So if I need to get a recipe on the blog, I’ll first write the blog post and recipe on a Word Doc and then take a break once I’m done with that.
5.Batching
I looove batching my work, it makes me work so much more efficiently!
Batching is when you do all the same type of tasks that you need to do at once.
So instead of writing a recipe, then a blog post, then make pins, write out emails and captions, all for one recipe, I’ll take a day to write out 4-5 recipes, then on the next day I’ll write 2-3 blog posts, and so on.
My brain doesn’t have to switch between so many tasks and I can just focus on doing one thing.
I hope this gave you some tips that you can implement into your life to help you achieve what you want to in a day!
Which of these are you going to implement today?! Let me know down below!
