The Blender Banana Bread Energy Balls are the perfect snack, giving you quick and long-lasting energy to hold you over until your next meal! And, they taste exactly like a comforting slice of banana bread – YUM
I love anything banana flavored with my whole heart.
Banana desserts are probably my favorite type of thing to bake – I like to consider myself a banana baking expert.
I made myself a loaf of banana bread, and still had a leftover banana, so I decided to whip together some energy balls and I couldn’t believe I hadn’t thought of the idea before.
A couple of these make for the perfect snack to hold you over until your next meal, and they taste like banana bread so you really can’t go wrong. I also love having these after a meal as dessert – they’re so good.
Plus, they’re packed with lots of nutrient dense ingredients to fuel your body 🙂
These energy balls are especially simple to make, because we just throw everything in a blender or food processor, roll them into balls, and that’s pretty much it.
Ingredients in Blender Banana Bread Energy Balls
Banana: I like to use a reallllly ripe banana because I feel like it makes it a lot sweeter! The grosser looking from the outside, the better 🙂
Rolled Oats: You can substitute rolled oats with quick oats also! I haven’t tried it, but I don’t think it should matter too much since we’ll be blending everything up together anyways!
Nuts: Use any nuts you have on hand! I like using walnuts and pecans because I feel like they go really well with the whole banana bread flavor, but almonds or cashews would work too! For a nut free option, use hemp seeds and chia seeds instead!
Medjool Dates: Dates help bind everything together. I like Medjool Dates because they’re really juicy, but if yours are dry, soak them in some warm water for 10 minutes. If you don’t have dates, you can try subbing with ¼ – ½ cup of honey or maple syrup.
Almond Butter: This also helps bind everything together while making the energy balls more filling! I like using almond here because it has a more subtle flavor, but feel free to use peanut butter for a more peanutty flavor!
Vanilla Protein Powder: I honestly just like using this for the flavor and to add an extra boost of protein. If you don’t have any, feel free to substitute with 1 tsp vanilla extract and 1 extra tbsp of oats.
Cinnamon: This adds to the banana bread flavor J feel free to add more or less to taste
Shredded Coconut: Adding coconut to my banana bread is one of my secrets and so I thought I’d try it here too and it definitely did not disappoint! Try it out if you have some on hand!
